Joyful paint colour palette from Lick

One of our main aims at Lick is to help you create homes that you love. Spaces that make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and, more than anything, happy. We know that colour has a huge impact on our mental well-being, and that's why the Lick Studio team has created our Joyful colour palette—a curation of our most uplifting colours for your home. As Tash Bradley, our Director of Interior Design reminds us, “it’s important to remember that you never see colour in isolation. It's the combination of colours that inspires positivity and wellness in a home. The colours in this palette work wonderfully together to give you that mood boost and energy.”

It's the combination of colours that inspires positivity and wellness in a home. The colours in this palette work wonderfully together to give you that mood boost and energy.

From cuddly pinks and warming yellows to refreshing blues and energising greens, this palette will bring a smile to your face and some sunshine into your home.

What are happy colours for a home?

Colours that have an uplifting effect on your mood, happy colours are typically bright and warm, often with yellow or pink undertones. According to the principles of colour psychology, this can make you feel more optimistic, open, and even happier. But most importantly, they are colours that you love and that spark joy whenever you’re around them.

Add some joy into your home

The colour psychology behind our joyful palette

A curation of six mood-boosting hues, these are the colours to choose if you want to make small but impactful changes to create joyful moments at home. As Charlotte Cropper, our International Colour Consultant, explains;

This palette is designed to inspire positivity and optimism, filling your home with a feel-good spirit.

Pink 01

According to colour psychology, pink helps you feel physically soothed. And, a cuddle in a paint tin, Pink 01 is our go-to paint for the job. Muted grey undertones give it a contemporary feel, whilst those red notes mean it's full of character. This is a gorgeously subtle pink, a modern alternative to neutrals and a warming alternative to white. Perfect in a living room, bedroom or nursery—in fact, you could really use this pink anywhere in your home. It will brighten up a room whilst creating a cosy, inviting feel.

Pink 09

Vibrant and full of fun, Pink 09 will both warm and energise a space. Inspired by the colours of coral, it’s as packed with personality as the most kaleidoscopic reef. A perfect accent colour to inject some instant colour into your decor scheme. Whether you use it on your woodwork or to paint your ceiling, its yellow notes will shine through, injecting character and style into any space.

White 03

Thanks to its warming yellow undertones, gentle White 03 is the perfect white paint to pair with any of the colours in our Joyful colour palette. However, it has enough character and depth to work on your walls all by itself. Soft and creamy, this white is so light and airy you’ll feel like you’re walking on Cloud 9. It will bounce light around a room and can even make a space appear bigger.

Green 14

Green is often referred to as nature’s neutral. It connects us to the natural world and helps us to unwind. As delicate as spring buds on the trees, Green 14 fills you with the same feelings of hope and new beginnings. With a dash of yellow and grey, it’s instantly uplifting yet still soft and gentle. Paint your woodwork or your kitchen cupboards for a rustic feel or in a bedroom or living room to create a serene space. Wherever you use it, Green 14 is guaranteed to put a spring in your step.

Blue 08

In colour psychology, blue is the colour of the mind. It has the ability to stimulate or calm, make you feel energised or mentally soothed. Warm, vibrant and full of vitality, Blue 08 works to awaken the mind. Perfect in a bedroom or bathroom when you want to start the day feeling mentally refreshed. It has a breath-like airy feel to it that will simply blow the cobwebs away.

Despite being a bold colour, it’s naturally soft and soothing, like afternoon rays of sunshine. The perfect accent colour and gorgeous paired with Blue 08, it will bring out the vibrancy of any colour you pair it with for a colourful and characterful palette.
