Purple 03 DUMBO House Paint

Purple 03 DUMBO House bottles Brooklyn’s boldness and lust for life. Inspired by Pritzker Prize-winning Mexican architect, Luis Barragán, the House’s colour palette is as rich and vibrant as the block-colour buildings that brought him to fame. From opulent purples, earthy ochres, rich teals, to warming pinks, it’s an energising palette that makes a statement. Pair Purple 03 DUMBO House with these jewel-coloured hues in your fabrics, furnishings, and artwork.

Sink-into sofas

Channelling DUMBO House’s relaxed lounge areas, with deep, sink-into sofas. You’ll spot plenty of retro-inspired silhouettes throughout the House, in brushed velvet and jewel tones. Just like the Soho Home Ashford 3-seater sofa in rust velvet. A gorgeous blend of contemporary style with seventies references, those large, squishy seat pads encourage you to stay a while, creating a laid-back, casual atmosphere whilst its autumnal colour palette gives off a warm and cosy feel.

Vibrant print rug

If you have an open-plan living area then a large, patterned rug is a great way to define and separate areas in your home. According to Candace Campos, Soho House’s Lead Designer, prints were a key component to creating the DUMBO House look. So, if you want to recreate the style in your home, try including vibrant prints. Soho Home’s Raya rug in rust is a gorgeous example of how you can add character and texture to your floors.

Curved, retro-inspired seating

DUMBO House harks back to Brooklyn’s sixties and seventies heyday, when it was the epicentre of New York’s art scene. Demonstrated by the retro references seen amongst its furnishings. Look out for curved furniture, in tactile fabrics, similar to this Garret Armchair. A swinging sixties-inspired swivel chair, upholstered in textured bouclé fabric, it encourages a sense of play and allows you to be enveloped by its organic curves. Perfect as an accent chair in a bedroom or living room.

Printed cushions

Colour and pattern are paramount to achieving DUMBO House’s unmistakable style. Just like Luis Barragán’s rule-breaking approach to lines and layout. Recreate the House's ‘more is more’ approach with unusual patterned and printed cushions. The Pierre Frey cushion in Les Ecailles and the Pierre Frey Tchad cushion are a great place to start. These vintage-inspired geometric patterns take a light-hearted approach to colour and pattern, so you can layer on plenty of different designs and colourways, all on one sofa.

A home bar

What better way to channel a little of the city that doesn’t sleep than with a vintage bar cart? Invite your friends over for a nightcap and carry on into the small hours with Soho Home’s Bar Cart. Synonymous with Soho House style, you’ll spot them in Houses all over the world. Complete the look with the Pavel ice bucket. Crafted from weighty Rosso Levanto marble, its deep cherry-red tones are reminiscent of DUMBO House’s rich jewel tones.

Colourful glassware

Wondering what to stock on that bar cart (aside from all the ingredients for a Dirty Martini)? A stylish set of glasses, of course. The Soho Home Rosendale Rocks glasses in amber and Rosendale Highball in amethyst are as elegant as they are practical. Each one is hand blown, meaning it has unique variations in colour and form. They’re the sort of set you’ll want to keep on display, even when they’re not in use, adding a pop of accent colour, channelling the DUMBO House palette into your home.

Sleek side tables

Freshly mixed drink in hand, every entertaining space requires a stylish side table to pop that drink down. Available in three sizes, the Arlon side table does just the job. Slender enough to tuck itself between any sofa or armchair, yet (made from weighty Fantasy Brown marble) sturdy enough to hold its ground.

Layered lighting

Mood lighting is a key component of all Soho Houses. Filled with atmospheric Murano glass chandeliers and art-worthy light installations, DUMBO House features some of the collection's most impressive light fittings. The Swirl Table Lamp is inspired by the vintage Murano glass designs popularised in the 1960s. Its marble base features a brass dimmer so you can choose the ambience you wish to create.

Continuing the retro orb theme, the Marnie floor lamp creates different lighting heights, really important when it comes to layering a room and something you’ll spot DUMBO House does exceptionally well. Practically shaped, you can tuck it behind a sofa or armchair for a warm and relaxing glow whilst you read, unwind or entertain.
